Overview

The 2027 Women's World Cup is the first staged in South America. FIFA chose Brazil over a joint Belgium–Netherlands–Germany bid in May 2024. Eight host cities were confirmed in 2025, with the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro pencilled in for the final.

The format matches 2023: 32 teams, eight groups of four, then a Round of 16 and three further knockout rounds.
